Sedation Dentistry

You don't have to white-knuckle your way through another appointment.

Three levels of sedation. A team trained in dental anxiety. Over 25 years of helping people who thought they couldn't be helped.

“One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn't do.”
— Henry Ford

Three Levels. Your Choice.

Every patient is different. We match the sedation to you — never the other way around.

Level 1

Nitrous Oxide

Laughing Gas

Mild relaxation that takes the edge off. You breathe it in through a small mask, feel calm within minutes, and it wears off almost immediately after your appointment. You can drive yourself home.

Best for: Mild anxiety, routine cleanings, patients who want to stay fully alert
Duration: During procedure only
Recovery: Immediate — drive yourself home
Level 2

Oral Sedation

The Calm Pill

You take a prescription pill before your appointment. By the time you're in the chair, you're deeply relaxed — awake but unconcerned. Many patients don't remember the procedure at all.

Best for: Moderate anxiety, longer procedures, patients who want to be relaxed but conscious
Duration: 2-4 hours
Recovery: Someone drives you home. Rest for the afternoon.
Level 3

IV Sedation

Twilight Sleep

The deepest level of sedation we offer. Administered through an IV, you're in a sleep-like state the entire time. You won't see, hear, or remember anything. You wake up and it's done.

Best for: Severe anxiety, complex procedures, patients who want to be completely unaware
Duration: Full procedure
Recovery: Someone drives you home. Rest for the day.

Their Fear. Their Words.

I hadn't been to a dentist in 18 years. Eighteen. The shame alone kept me away. Dr. Bana never once made me feel bad about it. He just said, 'You're here now. That's what matters.'

I chose IV sedation for a full mouth of work. I sat down, felt the IV, and the next thing I knew, it was over. Three hours of dental work and I remember none of it. That's not a miracle — that's Dr. Bana.

My hands were shaking so badly in the waiting room that Araceli came and sat with me. Just sat with me. She didn't try to rush me or give me a pep talk. She was just... there. That's when I knew I'd found my dentist.

Questions You Might Be Afraid to Ask

What if I have a panic attack during the appointment?

It happens more than you'd think, and our team is trained for exactly this. We stop immediately. We talk you through it. We never push. If you need to reschedule, there's zero judgment. Many of our most loyal patients had panic attacks at their first visit — and now they come in smiling.

I haven't been to the dentist in 10 years. Will you judge me?

Absolutely not. We see patients who haven't been in 5, 10, even 20+ years. Every single one of them says the same thing afterward: 'I wish I'd come sooner.' We don't lecture. We don't shame. We just take care of you.

What if I can't get through the appointment even with sedation?

Then we stop. It's that simple. Your comfort is not negotiable. We'll try a different approach, a different sedation level, or break the work into smaller visits. Dr. Bana has been doing this for 25 years — he's never met a patient he couldn't help.

How much does sedation cost?

Nitrous oxide is typically $50-100 per visit. Oral sedation ranges from $150-300. IV sedation ranges from $250-500 depending on the length of the procedure. Many insurance plans cover a portion. Delmis, our insurance coordinator, will walk you through your specific coverage before any treatment begins.
